How It Started: The Pet Industry College began on 9 February 2012 as Hanrob College, originally created to upskill Hanrob’s workforce and lift the standard of care for pets and their people. As the quality of training gained recognition, it naturally expanded to the public.
Where We Are Today: In 2025, following the sale of Hanrob, former owner Andrew Biggs carried the legacy forward by rebranding to The Pet Industry College — an independent, industry-driven organisation dedicated to building a more skilled, compassionate and professional animal-care workforce.
Our purpose is simple: Better-trained people create better lives for animals. We deliver nationally recognised certificate qualifications, practical short courses, professional development workshops, and specialist industry consultation. Our training spans the full pet sector, companion-animal services, and animal-management programs for local government officers and rangers. We also provide international study tours, global workforce-upskilling programs, and tailored solutions for organisations looking to lift welfare and operational standards.
